My wife did not stop all communication, so I had to ask her to leave the house our two children and I are living in. In her guilt and broken state she left, depressed and sure I would never want her back, despite my repeated attempts otherwise, she began a new sexual relationship with a different man. I at this point was sure it was over, until this past february, right after she had switched our separation to divorce, she came back humbly hoping to fulfill the commitments she made to God and I. She is pregnant with the second boys child and this book truly speaks to the range of emotions and pain. Walking through this is not knew and reading this book will give you excellent biblical insight, practical wisdom, and raw emotion. God is good and many of the words God spoke to Cindy were spoken to me through this journey. Be still and know He is God, and be encouraged by fellow believers. I immediately went into prayer and my bible app. I found a devotional by Cindy Beall based on this book. I went to amazon and bought it. It has been truly inspirational to see her work through her marriage and it helped me (with prayer) by through reading her experiences...i was able to heal. I had even greater respect for the honesty of their church leadership in how they handled this matter when the affair came to light. I do not think I could have handled the affair and a baby the way Mrs. Beall handled it. I have never been married and I have no kids so reading a book on how a couple healing their marriage after an affair may seem odd, but as a Christian who is doing a lot of "hiding my shame," this was a good wake up call to lead an honest life and start to confess my sins to somebody else and receive healing. I am a woman and while I do not have a huge "video" pornography problem, I am having serious struggles with erotic novels. These novels are a woman's version of pornography!!! After my husband disclosed his affair to me, I left my home. I was more broken than I had ever been, but God led me to Cindy and Chris Beall's story. Through their testimony, I began to see a ray of hope. I chose to return home to my husband who was as broken as I was. Painful betrayal doesn't even begin to express the emotions involved in this type of discovery. This book and the testimony shared here was truly an answer to prayer and a phenomenal tool that has given me insight into the true character and heart of forgiveness that can only come from the one who created us, knowing we would be weak and full of sin.....
